It’s Ragnar Kentuckiana week which means it’s time to start finalizing those travel and packing plans. Packing for an overnight relay can be quite a chore. I think that everyone has a different strategy when it comes to packing. For me, I gather and organize things for weeks. For my boyfriend, Damon, he typically packs the day we are leaving for our race.
I love being on a team and having the opportunity to check out everyone’s different gear. It never fails that I come home with a list of must have items for my next race. This year I will have a couple of unique items packed in my bag for Ragnar Kentuckiana.
Here are a few things that are in my bag:
I really hit the jackpot with these sunglasses. They made the Runner’s World of the year 2016 list. I’ve always had a hard time finding cool, inexpensive shades. Goodr sunglasses are designed for runners so they won’t slip or bounce. For $25 and a free shipping offer, I wouldn’t be too sad if I lost a pair on the trail.
My friend Kelly and I first discovered this little gem at an expo in Memphis, TN in 2014. It’s really ingenious because it can be utilized in any running conditions. If you’re plagued by a runny nose when it’s cold outside, then this is the towel for you! And if the weather is warm, take it along to wipe the sweat off your forehead. The great thing is that it’s super portable because it wraps around your wrist and can easily be thrown into the wash afterward.
I’m a big fan of running hats. Hats are a girl’s best friend at Ragnar. I’m known to have bed head, trail hair, and a very real-looking rat’s nest on top of my head without my flat iron in tow. The trucker hat solves all of that. I’ll have 2 hats in my bag on Ragnar weekend–my Boco brand Backyard Classic trucker hat and my Running Soles trucker hat.
So now it’s your turn, what’s in your bag?
